Early Reassurance scan (14 – 18 weeks)

During pregnancy, there are sometimes moments when you need a little extra reassurance about your baby’s health . Dr Calderwood, who has children of her own, understands this only too well and provides Early Reassurance scans at the Edinburgh Clinic.

Obviously, there are many different reasons parents-to-be want to know their baby is okay, with reasons for requesting an Early Reassurance Scan including tummy pains, bleeding, falling or being involved in a traffic accident. However, it’s also perfectly acceptable to request an Early Reassurance scan simply because you’re desperate to see your baby!

As well as checking your baby’s health, during this scan, the size of the baby will be checked, along with any anatomy that is visible at this stage of your pregnancy. In addition, you will be able to see your baby moving and, at the end of the scan, you will receive pictures of your baby.
