Ophthalmology

Ophthalmology is the branch of medicine dealing with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases of the eye and vision.

Thankfully, most ophthalmological conditions are not life threatening, but many can cause discomfort, are unsightly and disrupt day-to-day activities.  At The Edinburgh Clinic we can provide regular outpatient clinics for diagnosis, treatment and advice on a range of conditions from simple eye-care to complex vision and eye-related problems.  Various minimal intervention treatments are available.

Our consultants specialise in:

  • Cataracts
  • Diabetic retinopathy
  • Dry eyes
  • Glaucoma
  • Eyelid lumps and cysts
  • Macular degeneration
  • Watery eyes

Our ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgeon also specialises in the cosmetic surgical and non-surgical rejuvenation of the eyelids and midface including baggy lower eyelids, droopy upper eyelids, prominent wrinkles, sunken or hollowed looking eyes, eyelid malpositioning and ingrown eyelashes.
