Professional Information


Dr Arnott trained in medicine at St Andrew's and Manchester University. He completed his postgraduate training in gastroenterology in Edinburgh and Los Angeles.

He is an accredited Specialist in gastroenterology dealing with a broad range of gastrointestinal disorders including inflammatory bowel disease, and other diarrhoeal conditions, gastrointestinal bleeding and upper GI cancer.

He also has an interest in endoscopy including video capsule endoscopy.

Research interests


The genetic and environmental factors implicated in inflammatory bowel disease. Novel therapies in Crohn's disease, non - invasive assessment of disease activity and prognosis in inflammatory bowel disease. Video capsule endoscopy. UK National IBD Audit.

Other information


I enjoy spending time with my wife and two sons. I also enjoy the great outdoors and a number of sporting activities.
