Professional information
Since 1997, Mr Gibson has accepted patients referred to him with orthopaedic problems, primarily those affecting the spine, foot and ankle at The Royal Infirmary Edinburgh.
Previously, he was Spinal Fellow at the Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney and Visiting Scholar to the University of Sydney, NSW, Australia.
Mr Gibson’s recent research has included publication of International Cochrane Literature Reviews of surgery, development of a patented cervical disc arthroplasty and a device for the correction of idiopathic scoliosis. Publications available on www.gibsonspine.eu
He has specialist expertise in endoscopic spine surgery and kyphoplasty. In addition, he has also maintained an interest in surgery of the foot and ankle.
He currently collaborates with several commercial companies in the UK, US and Germany.
