Professional information

Mr Mander was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon in The Edinburgh Colorectal Unit in 2002 and has been the Lead Clinician of the Unit since 2004. He qualified from St. Thomas's Hospital in London and trained in General Surgery and Coloproctology in London and the South East.

He undertook a 15 month fellowship in Advanced Colorectal Surgery and Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery in Sydney and Brisbane prior to coming to Edinburgh.

His practice encompasses all areas of colorectal surgery. He also undertakes hernia surgery and the removal of minor skin lumps.

He has a particular interest in colonoscopy, daycase and minimal access surgery, colorectal cancer screening and treatment as well as the treatment of functional and inflammatory bowel disease.
