After graduating from University of Edinburgh Medical School, Mr Gaston undertook surgical training in Edinburgh, then Orthopaedic training in Oxford and Edinburgh
He completed training with Specialist Fellowships in Brisbane, Australia and Edinburgh, then was appointed as a Consultant in the Arthroplasty Service in Edinburgh, this involves hip and knee joint replacement and revision joint replacement surgery, which forms a large part of his practice
Since becoming a consultant he has developed an interest in Young Adult Hip Pathology, many of whom do not need joint replacement and have a condition called Femoro-Acetabular (Hip) Impingement (FAI)
He is now able to offer Open and Arthroscopic Hip Surgery for the management of this problem

Originally from Northern Ireland, I live in Edinburgh with my wife and three daughters. My interests include shooting, rugby and running to keep fit.
