Background & training
Mr Raza went to school in West Lothian and qualified in 1990 at the University of Dundee Medical School. He has had extensive training in Vascular Surgery in Dundee, Hull and Edinburgh. He was appointed Consultant Vascular Surgeon at The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and Honorary Senior Lecturer (University of Edinburgh) in 2002.
He has the following positions:
- Foundation Programme Director (South East Scotland)
- Examiner for The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh
- Consultant with administrative responsibility for Vascular Access Surgery
- Reviewer for The British Journal of Surgery
Mr Raza has an interest in Varicose Vein treatment and is able to offer treatment with Radiofrequency Ablation (VNUS closure technique) and Foam Sclerotherapy. This treatment involves minimal scars and can be carried out whilst the patient is fully awake or mildly sedated. He has a busy practice (both NHS and private) and operates only on patients with vascular problems.
