Amanda Brady ABC Hearing FSHAA RHAD

Amanda Brady has over 27 years audiology and hearing aid experience in both the public and private sectors.  Her wealth of knowledge and experience as a hearing aid audiologist and the patience, care and support she provides to her clients is unique in Scotland today.  Qualifying first as an NHS audiologist and then as a registered hearing aid dispenser in the private sector, by 1994 Amanda had progressed to the highest level in the NHS by being appointed as the senior chief audiologist at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.  For six years she managed the Lothian Adult Audiology Service and was a key figure in its expansion and development.

In 2001 Amanda and her husband Trevor established ABC Hearing with the aim of combining the best hearing aid provision with the best care.  Their commitment to continually improving the level of service to their clients led to the opening of their hearing care centre in Uphall west Lothian in 2005.  In recognition of her expertise and dedication to her clients Amanda was voted runner-up in the UK Audiologist of the Year competition 2009.

Amanda works closely with other professionals to provide the best all-round care for her clients and is delighted to be working from the Edinburgh Clinic where she can liaise closely with ENT consultant, Mr Moralee.

By combining private sector technology and public sector training and experience, ABC Hearing provides an unrivalled level of service when it comes to looking after your hearing problems.  You will benefit from Amanda's caring and professional approach and her expert knowledge of the latest technological advances in hearing care.

Amanda says: “Poor hearing affects people’s quality of life so much; not hearing in meetings at work perhaps or the grandchildren or the sounds of nature like the birds singing which those of us with normal hearing take for granted.

Hearing loss can lead to communication difficulties either at work or with loved ones and can be incredibly frustrating and isolating.  It is often accompanied by a complete lack of understanding and support by others unlike blindness, and if left untreated can lead to a great deal of embarrassment and anxiety which can impact on the whole family.

It is very important clients come forward as early as possible for help with their hearing problems.  I can offer understanding and support as well as some of the best technological advances in hearing aids including very discreet models.”

Away from work Amanda is kept busy by her teenage daughter and very lively seven year old Jack Russell.  She likes to unwind with various craft activities including scrap book and card making, gardening and photography.
