DEXA Scan

What is a Dexa Scan?

DEXA or dual energy x-ray absorptiometry measures the density of bones.  It uses low energy x-rays and a computer to calculate a score of the average density of the bone. It is also used to measure body composition.  The machine sends x-rays through the bone being tested.
