At The Edinburgh Clinic we pride ourselves on the medical expertise of our practitioners and on providing the very best in care and support. That’s why we’re delighted to welcome two new GPs to the clinic.
We now have four private GPs practicing at the clinic, allowing us to further enhance our services, with more convenient appointment times, and much more chance of getting an appointment within 24 hours, and often a same-day appointment.
Our increased capacity also means that we can offer longer appointments so you don’t feel rushed when you meet our team, and have more time to discuss your needs or concerns in a relaxed environment. While many GPs now can only afford around 10 minutes per patient, our standard consultation lasts 30 minutes, with hour-long appointments also available.
We’re within easy reach of areas like Merchiston, Morningside, Bruntsfield, Craiglockhart and Shandon, and when you visit, you’ll be taken care of by our welcoming team, before meeting with one of our four private GPs:
Dr Dickson is both a general practitioner, and a minor surgery and skin specialist, with eight years’ experience as a hospital practitioner in Dermatology.
She was a locality surgeon on Lothian and Midlothian and was formerly the main Vasectomy Surgeon in Lothian.
She has also developed courses in Dermatology and Minor Surgery, and written many articles for medical journal Mims Dermatology.

Having previously worked both in hospital posts and as a GP, Dr McRae-Routray now focuses her time on Sports Medicine, with more than a decade of experience in the field.
She has particular interest in mental health in sport, female athlete issues, injury prevention and yoga.
Dr McRae-Routray offers ad hoc clinics on Friday mornings and other times can also be arranged.

Dr Doyle has been in general practice since 2000, and has particular interest in minor surgery (including removal of skin lesions, musculoskeletal problems (including steroid injections to joints and soft tissues), men’s health and care of the elderly.
Dr Doyle has regular clinics on Thursday afternoons and evenings, with ad hoc clinics on Tuesday afternoons and evenings. Other times can also be arranged.

Dr Cohen qualified as a GP in 1999 and, after gaining experience in ear, nose and throat medicine, liaison psychiatry and accident and emergency services, has been a GP partner in Edinburgh since 2004.
She spent three years as a hospital practitioner in Dermatology, and also has particular interest in diabetes, for which she runs her own practice clinic.
Dr Cohen offers regular clinics on Tuesday and Friday morning, and other appointments may be available on request.

Our on-site diagnostic imaging services also mean that you can get speedy access to scanning facilities including x-rays, ultrasound, CT, MRI and DXA scans.
