Getting a Visa Medical for Overseas Travel at The Edinburgh Clinic; Everything you need to know.

18/07/2017

If you’re planning to immigrate to Australia, New Zealand or Canada, you’ll need to complete a Visa Medical. The Edinburgh Clinic offers a speedy and competitively priced, one-stop service for foreign visa medicals. Our medical accreditation is compliant with each countries specific visa requirements.

Appointments are available Monday to Friday and our extensive facilities mean that all of the required components of the examination, including panel doctor consultation, blood tests and X-ray, can be carried out on the same day.

In this article, we cover the things you need to know if you’re wondering what’s involved in getting Visa Medical accreditation.

Before your medical, you’ll need your HAP ID to update your eMedical case online. What is this and where do I get it?

HAP ID is the reference number you’ll be given from the respective immigration services when you apply to emigrate. eMedical is the system used to complete all the administration work for Visa Medicals.

What should I bring to my examination?

  • A valid passport – without this we are unable to proceed with the medical
  • Any prescription glasses or contact lenses that you may wear
  • Where you have a known medical condition, any existing specialist reports
  • Previous chest X-rays (if applicable)

What sort of tests will you run during my examination?

Blood tests, panel doctor consultation and X-ray are all completed for all 3 medicals.

How much does it cost?

The costs vary for each medical but below is the adult medical pricing for each country:

Australia:

Full adult medical (15+) – £303.00

Adult Healthcare medical – £384.00 (for those who work in healthcare)

Canada:
