If you opt for surgery, do it with the understanding that you will likely need to have it re-done within the next 15-20 years. No implant will last forever.
In fact, you may need to have the surgery re-done sooner if there are changes to your body which make the implants appear unnatural. These changes could be caused by pregnancy, weight gain or loss, or hormonal changes. At The Edinburgh Clinic we only use the highest quality, FDA-approved implants.
During the first week following breast surgery, patients can experience pain and so avoiding work or strenuous exercise during that time is recommended. If your job involves manual labour, you may have allow a longer time period to recover.
For women who choose to have implants placed under the muscle (this is a popular choice because the end result will feel more natural), recovery can take a little longer.
Implants are manufactured to simulate the look and feel of real breasts but they are still man-made and don’t feel exactly the same. Women who have their implants inserted underneath the muscle tissue will have breasts that feel more natural.
Choosing the right consultant is important. At The Edinburgh Clinic we have a team of highly experienced Consultant Plastic Surgeons. Dr Daniel Widdowson, Mr William Anderson, Mr Stuart Hamilton and Mr Ken Stewart make up our Cosmetic team at The Edinburgh Clinic.
