What’s the cost of a Breast Enlargement or Uplift and other key questions about Breast Cosmetic Surgery

Have you naturally small breasts and seek a fuller shape? Or perhaps you wish to restore volume and lift to your breasts. If you’re starting to consider Breast Augmentation or a Breast uplift, or mastopexy, you’ll have many questions. Here we answer the most frequently asked questions patients coming to The Edinburgh Clinic ask of our Consultant Surgeons and medical team.

How much does it cost?
Breast Enlargement is available from £3,950 and Breast Uplift is available from £4,950. Click here to go to our pricing page or call us 0131 447 2340 for more information.

  • Breast augmentation surgery is not permanent.

If you opt for surgery, do it with the understanding that you will likely need to have it re-done within the next 15-20 years. No implant will last forever.
In fact, you may need to have the surgery re-done sooner if there are changes to your body which make the implants appear unnatural. These changes could be caused by pregnancy, weight gain or loss, or hormonal changes. At The Edinburgh Clinic we only use the highest quality, FDA-approved implants.

  • You should be prepared to take five to seven days off work.

During the first week following breast surgery, patients can experience pain and so avoiding work or strenuous exercise during that time is recommended. If your job involves manual labour, you may have allow a longer time period to recover.
For women who choose to have implants placed under the muscle (this is a popular choice because the end result will feel more natural), recovery can take a little longer.

  • Your implants will not feel the same as your natural breasts.

Implants are manufactured to simulate the look and feel of real breasts but they are still man-made and don’t feel exactly the same. Women who have their implants inserted underneath the muscle tissue will have breasts that feel more natural.

  • How do I chose the right Plastic Surgeon?

Choosing the right consultant is important. At The Edinburgh Clinic we have a team of highly experienced Consultant Plastic Surgeons. Dr Daniel Widdowson, Mr William Anderson, Mr Stuart Hamilton and Mr Ken Stewart make up our Cosmetic team at The Edinburgh Clinic.
In addition to Breast Augmentation and Breast Uplift surgery, The Edinburgh Clinic also offers Fat Transfer, Mastectomy, and Asymmetry procedures.
