Training & background:

Dr Cheesbrough trained in Medicine in Cardiff graduating from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 2002. She initially trained in surgery, working in different parts of Wales and the North West of England. After spending some time working in A&E in Australia she returned to the UK to do GP training in Edinburgh, which she completed in 2011.

She worked in a GP practice in the North East of Edinburgh from 2013 until 2020. She has always retained an interest in surgery and has worked at the Minor Surgery service in Leith Community Treatment Centre since 2012. She was a GP Specialty Doctor in Dermatology for 6 years, operating on patients with skin cancers. She also works within the Colorectal Department as a GP Specialty Doctor at the Western General Hospital and as a GP for the Lothian Unscheduled Care Service.
