Ewa Majdak-Paredes graduated from medical school in 2000. In the next 4 years she completed a PhD program in surgery and human genetics as a Marie Curie PhD Fellow. After obtaining a PhD degree, Ewa spent the following 12 years in general surgical and plastic surgery training in London, Birmingham, Dundee and Edinburgh. Her plastic surgery training program was based in Scotland. She also undertook fellowships in Oncoplastic Breast Reconstruction, advanced microsurgical breast reconstruction and breast / body aesthetics in Edinburgh, Chelmsford and Canada.
She was admitted firstly as a Member (MRCS, 2006) and subsequently as a Fellow (FRCS, 2015) of the Royal College of Surgeons. In addition, she also passed European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery examination (EBOPRAS, 2015).
Ewa is on the GMC specialist register as a plastic surgeon and is a member of BAPRAS, BAAPS and ASAPS.
She has been working as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon in NHS Lothian and regularly undertakes complex reconstructive surgery of the breast, body and face. She has strong interest in cosmetic surgery.
Outside medicine, Ewa has got great passion for art including being an amateur artist and finding the activity therapeutic. She strongly believes in the power of mindfulness and healthy life-style.
