Injectable Facial Fillers

Injectable fillers are a non-surgical treatment whereby wrinkles and lines in the face are ‘filled in’ to create a smoother, more youthful appearance. This treatment is also carried out to improve sunken cheeks and increase the plumpness of thin lips.

Areas injectable fillers can target include:

  • Lips – to create a plumper, more defined shape
  • Naso-labial lines – creases that run between the mouth and nose
  • Glabeller lines – the vertical lines situated between the eyebrows
  • Cheeks – to enhance fullness, particularly following illness
  • Crow’s feet/laughter lines – wrinkles on the outer corners of the eyes
  • Marionette lines – long vertical lines running down from the corners of the mouth
  • Facial scars – from acne scarring or an old injury
  • Forehead lines – horizontal lines running across the forehead

The procedure

Injectable fillers take the form of a series of small injections. There are numerous types of ‘fillers’ available; and whether your results are temporary or permanent will depend on the filler. A discussion with your consultant will allow you to determine which type of filler is best for you.

Treatment time ranges between 30 minutes and an hour. No anaesthetic is required.

Although the targeted area may be a little sore and swollen after your treatment, you are usually able to resume your daily activities straight away.
