Wrinkle Injections

Wrinkles are typically formed as a results of making certain facila expressions, such as smiling or frowning.  Although they are part of the ageing process, there are other factors that can cause wrinkles, such as smoking, sun damage and some medications.

We all crave youthful-looking skin, and that’s perhaps why muscle wrinkle injections are the most popular type of non-surgical treatment.

The main areas that can be treated include:

  • Under arms – to prevent hyperhidrosis
  • Glabeller lines – the creases above the nose
  • Crow’s feet/laughter lines – the lines gathered at the corner of the eyes
  • Forehead lines – creases running along the forehead

The process

During anti-wrinkle treatment, injections are made directly into the facial muscles to relax them by blocking nerve transmission. By relaxing the muscles, the skin appears smoother and less wrinkled.

The effects of muscle relaxant injections typically last from 3-6 months. However, patients have reported longer-lasting results after undergoing 2-3 treatments.

Recovery

There is virtually no recovery time with anti-wrinkle injections, and you can expect to resume your usual daily activities straight after treatment.
