  • Sports injuries

  • Women’s and men’s health physiotherapy

What happens during an appointment?

During your initial physiotherapy appointment, your physiotherapist will spend time finding out more about your lifestyle, such as what leisure activities you undertake, your general health and any relevant medical history. They will then carry out a physical assessment of your condition, taking you through some physical movements, and identify a treatment plan that will best help with your rehabilitation.

Your treatment plan may include some or all of the following methods:

  • mobilisation and manipulation: hands-on techniques that vary from gentle touches and stretching to more robust manipulation
  • exercise therapy: this can range from simple stretches to a more comprehensive exercise programme designed to aid recovery and prevent injuries in the future
  • sports rehabilitation: our specialists routinely treat chronic and repetitive strain injuries, and will work with you to plan appropriate training methods and regimes to help you maintain your fitness and work with your injury rather than against it
  • preventative advice: providing advice and training to help you improve your condition during daily activity, such as appropriate exercise, posture correction and lifting techniques that can really help speed up recovery and prevent a reoccurrence of the problem.
