Private GP Appointments at The Edinburgh Clinic are helping self-pay or insured patients in Edinburgh, Fife and Midlothian to beat NHS queues and get a diagnosis fast.

Our Private GP service enables patients to short-cut often lengthy NHS queues and provides them with an extended and in-depth GP consultation. Patients with urgent needs can even arrange immediate same-day appointments with one of our experienced GPs.  

Longer appointments

The pressure on GPs these days means that they can only realistically spend 10 minutes with each patient.  At The Edinburgh Clinic, our standard consultation time with a GP is 30 minutes and longer appointment times of up to an hour are also available if you feel this could be of greater benefit to you.

Home visits

If you can’t get the Clinic for any reason, we’ll be happy to arrange a GP appointment for you in the comfort of your own home. The standard fee for a house visit within a 5 mile radius is £345 plus consultation time. House visits that are more than a 5 mile radius can be arranged: price discussed on an individual basis. Timing must be confirmed with the Private GP. Prescriptions and investigations incur additional charges.

Fast access to specialist consultants

If clinically justified following your initial GP appointment, we can arrange a speedy onward referral to the most appropriate choice of specialist from our panel of over 100 consultants.

On-site diagnostic imaging

Choosing our Private GP service also offers immediate access, if required, to our extensive in-house diagnostic imaging facilities including X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, MRI and DXA scanning.

Health screening

Under the umbrella of our Private GP service, we offer a comprehensive choice of general and specialist health screening services from mole assessments to prostate, bowel and osteoporosis screening.
